About

Olivia has a keen interest in financial and ‘left of field’ family law issues, particularly those involving financial agreements or paternity/parentage issues. She believes there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to resolving family law matters – as a result, she is skilled in identifying the needs of each individual client and tailoring her approach accordingly. She was recently voted a “Family Law Rising Star” by Doyles Guide.

Olivia was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia in April 2015. She completed, as part of her Masters Degree, a research paper on ‘pre-nuptial’ style financial agreements. In recognition of her achievements throughout her post-graduate studies, Olivia was admitted as a Graduate Fellow of the College of Law in May 2018.

She works closely with Personal Assistant, Sarah Radin.

No one would choose to go through an emotional, difficult and drawn out legal battle with a person they once loved. It is a time consuming, stressful process that is hard on everyone, especially the children. My case involved child custody issues and eventually Parental Orders, Spousal Maintenance and property settlement. Like most people, I thought (and certainly hoped) I’d never see the day where I’d need assistance from a family law firm. Having to sit down and talk with a Solicitor often means that an individual has some difficulty that needs sorting out. I was in this category – looking for a good Solicitor to assist me with the ending of a marriage. On recommendation from Ms. Liya Ting (a friend and lawyer) I approached Jones Mitchell and I was introduced to Ms. Day.’I was immediately impressed with the professionalism of Mrs Day. She immediately asked pertinent questions and offered good, strong advice. She took a professional interest in my case that her predecessor had not – indeed they had almost seemed disinterested just doing what they had to do!Through no fault of Ms Day’s that was almost 2 years ago.
