Katharine Atkins
About
Having been an Accredited Family Law Specialist since 1997 and an accomplished family law practitioner, Kathy now spends much of her time mentoring the Firm’s lawyers as well as teaching family law at Bond University. Kathy is a strong role model for the team, herself inspired by Joseph Joubert’s words “to teach is to learn twice.”
Kathy began practising exclusively in family law in 1991 after practising in commercial and property law for some years. She joined Jones Mitchell Family Lawyers in 1999.
Kathy is currently the Chair of the Family Law Committee of the Queensland Law Society, the Deputy Chair of the Specialist Accreditation Board of the Queensland Law Society and committee member of the Gold Coast District Law Association.
Kathy has been associated with Bond University since 1994 and is both an Associate Professor of Law and the Associate Dean, External Engagement and International.
Kathy works closely with all team members, especially Tim Jones and Nikki Farago.
