Practical Experience:
Warwick Jones was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1981 and thereafter practised in general litigation and family law with the law firm of Adamson Bernays Kyle & Jones.

In 1990 Warwick Jones and David Mitchell joined together and commenced Jones Mitchell, their intention being to establish the first and only law firm in Queensland practising solely and exclusively in matrimonial and family law, including de facto relationships. To the extent that Jones Mitchell still practise exclusively in those areas, it remains the largest firm in Queensland and one of only a handful of firms in Australia, to do so.

Today Warwick Jones specialises with the larger and more complex property and financial cases as well as some children's matters including difficult residence matters, relocation, Hague Convention and some bioethical issues.

Mediation Arbitration Early Neutral Evaluation (ENE) Experience:
Warwick Jones first undertook a course in Mediation at Bond University in 1991. This course was subsequently followed by another course at the Centre for Dispute Resolution at Boulder, Colorado, U.S.A. Warwick Jones has attended a number of Mediation Training Workshops conducted by Bond University, mainly as an Associate Instructor following that appointment by the University Dispute Resolution Centre in 1992. Warwick Jones has conducted numerous family Mediations in all areas of family dispute involving parties from the Gold Coast, Brisbane, interstate and overseas.

In October 2001 Warwick Jones was accredited as an Arbitrator by the Queensland Law Society and the Law Council of Australia. There are very few Family Law Accredited Arbitrators in Australia.
Arbitration, Early Neutral Evaluation (ENE) and Mediation are all various forms of Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR). Warwick Jones has a commitment to the pursuit of Alternate Dispute Resolution wherever that is appropriate and for clients to at all times be aware of its availability and the various ADR options. For more detailed information on all three processes, see elsewhere in the Jones Mitchell website.

Warwick Jones has over the past ten years addressed Family Lawyers at a number of conferences, seminars and legal symposiums organised by the Queensland Law Society (C.L.E. Department), the Queensland Family Law Practitioners Association, Bond University and other organisations.
