Practical Experience:
Kathy was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1985. She commenced practising exclusively in the area of Family Law in 1991, after having practised in Commercial and Property Law. Kathy joined Jones Mitchell Lawyers in 1999.
Kathy became an Accredited Family Law Specialist in 1997. She completed her Masters in Law in 2001.
Kathy has been a member of the Committee of the Gold Coast District Law Association since 1995. During this time, she has represented the Law Association at the quarterly Judges and Practitioners case management meetings held at the Family Court at Brisbane.
Kathy was appointed to the Family Law Section of the Queensland Law Society in 1999.
Kathy has been associated with Bond University since 1994, during which time she has held the position of Tutor in the subjects of Family Law, Torts and Civil Procedure. She now holds the position of Clinical Associate Professor of Law and is currently a co-director of the Practical Legal Training Program at Bond University.
